Apples are considered the ideal fall fruit, but did you know pears are also in season? In fact, there are approximately 130 pear varieties cultivated in Canada every year! With this caramelized apple & pear recipe, you’ll enjoy the best that fall can offer – especially if you use apples & pears you picked yourself!
Pro tip: To achieve a better tasting dish, make sure to use very ripe pears! Knowing when your pears are ready is easy, you just have to lightly squeeze them at the base of the stem; if it’s easily mushed, they’re good to go!

Ingredients
- 1 sachet of Yumi apple cinnamon overnight oats
- 1\3 cup almond milk
- 1\4 cup diced apple
- 1\4 cup diced pear
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- Ground cinnamon, to taste
- Pecans, to taste
Recipe
- Mix the overnight oats packet with the almond milk.
- Refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.
- The next morning, place the diced apple, diced pear, lemon juice and maple syrup in a small pan, over medium-high heat for approximately 5 minutes. Stir continuously.
- Top your overnight oats with the caramelized apple & pear, pecans and ground cinnamon to taste.
