Warm summer days are here and it is the perfect time to enjoy a fresh and filling breakfast! Try this delicious overnight oats recipe staring chia seeds, a superfood associated with many health benefits.

Why you should add chia seeds to your diet

Althought they have seen a recent increase in popularity in north America, chia seeds have actually been a part of certain human diets for thousands of years. If we look down South, we find evidence that they were cultivated by both the Mayas and the Aztecs for their numerous virtues. Considered by many as a superfood, they have been found to lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases all the while being rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which helps with brain function, fiber, calcium, proteins AND antioxydants. Talk about a package deal![1]

Blueberry and Chia Seed Overnight Oats

Ingredients:

Recipe:

  1. Mix the blueberry-vanilla overnight oats with the almond milk, the ground chia seeds and the frozen blueberries.
  2. Refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.
  3. The next morning, top with more blueberries.
  4. Enjoy!
